On December 7-8, 2023, the National Conference of Academic Career Offices took place at the Silesian University of Technology (Ogólnopolska Konferencja Akademickich Biur Karier).

This conference brings together representatives from higher education institutions, academic career offices, students, employers, and business environment representatives from across Poland, creating a unique platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and best practices in the field of career development.

It was a unique opportunity to present the tutoring and mentoring (T&M) system of the Erasmus+ project PROMENT, where students, faculty, and business representatives collaborate to enhance approaches to the preparation and support of young professionals.

In the modern world, mentorship becomes a crucial topic not only for higher education institutions but also for businesses. It represents a new approach to learning and a key to a successful start in the professional world.

Tomasz Sasiadek, the developer of the Mentiway software, shared detailed research on mentorship in Poland.

According to the Mentiway team’s report, several advantages of implementing a mentorship program include:

– Improvement of work relationships, strengthening communication, and interaction.
– Personal development of mentees.
– Increased motivation and enthusiasm for work (learning).
– Transfer of experience and knowledge from experienced employees.
– Enhancement of participants’ self-esteem.

An interesting introduction was made with Magdalena Tytuła from the Educational Foundation “Perspektywy,” managing the Incubating Freedom project for Ukrainians in Poland. By combining the efforts of the PROMENT team and the Perspektywy organization, we are confident that mutual benefits can be achieved.

Collaborative work and the exchange of experiences can significantly contribute to the development of projects. We believe in a fruitful collaboration between the PROMENT team and the Perspektywy Foundation!
