The establishment of the T&M university centre at Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University February 28-29, 2024, Mykolaiv (Ukraine)


On February 28-29, 2024, the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University hosted a round table entitled “Professional Mentoring for Public Sector Efficiency in Wartime and Post-War Reconstruction.” The event was organized within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ project 101082696 – PROMENT “Promoting Professional Education and Active Student Participation through the Establishment of a Comprehensive Mentoring and Tutoring System in HEIs.” This international project unites Ukrainian and European universities and is a leader in promoting the development of student skills in accordance with new living conditions and the labor market.

The round table also included a grand opening of the Center for Tutoring and Mentoring. Dmytro Sichka, PhD in Law, Associate Professor, and Dean of the Law Faculty of the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, was appointed as the Head of the Center. Elina Kazaryan and Hanna Krasheninnikova were appointed as leading specialists of the Center.

It is important to note that two pilot schemes, “Local Government” and “Young Teacher Mentoring,” will be implemented during the work of the Center. The coordinators of the schemes are Viktoria Andriyash and Halyna Kosareva, respectively.

It is worth noting that this Center is the third in Ukraine and the first in the south of our country. The main functions of the Center for Tutoring and Mentoring are professional growth, stimulation of social activity and development of mentoring skills among both University students and staff; and establishment of effective interaction between the academic and non-academic environments to improve youth employment.
