The training “Women in Science: Ukrainian and International Dimensions” was held at Petro Mohyla National University of Chernivtsi as part of the PROMENT project


On May 15, 2025, an online training on scientific activity “Women in Science: Ukrainian and International Dimensions” was held at the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University. The event was held within the framework of the international project PROMENT – Erasmus+, aimed at developing mentoring, tutoring, and academic activity of young people.
The speaker of the training, Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy Iryna Tikhonenko, shared with the participants her own scientific path, experience of participating in international research programs, as well as practical advice on starting and developing a scientific career for female and male students.

The training was held within the mentoring initiative “Gender Mentoring “Women in Science”. The event covered key topics:

– How to choose a scientific topic and supervisor.

– How to start writing a scientific article.

– How to organize your first research in the form of coursework and qualification papers.

– What opportunities does postgraduate study open up?

– How to publish in scientific journals.

– Where to look for international internships, scholarships, and competitions.

– How to use modern platforms such as ResearchGate, Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, to build a scientific profile.

– How to develop in the field of analytics and join the work of think tanks.

The training became a source of inspiration, motivation, and concrete actions. Thanks to the speaker’s personal examples, the participants were able to better understand how to turn an interest in science into a full-fledged academic career and how to realize themselves not only in Ukraine, but also internationally.

The event was held on the Zoom platform and gathered an active audience of young female researchers who strive to change the world through knowledge.
