Personalization of the scientific trajectory of student mentees: about the form of individual mentoring in the program “Mentoring of Young Teachers” under the Proment project
One of the ways of effective interaction among the forms of mentoring is individual cooperation, which takes place between a mentor and a mentee. This form is presented in the second stage of piloting the EU project Erasmus+101082696-PROMENT “Promoting professional education and active participation of students through the establishment of a comprehensive system of mentoring and tutoring in higher education institutions” within the framework of the implementation of the program “Mentoring of young teachers”.
The coordinator of this program, Kosareva Halyna, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Philology and Intercultural Communication, and Antonyan Siranush, a student-mentee of group 341 of the Faculty of Philology, successfully implemented this through a research form of cooperation during the recent conference “Mohyla Readings-2025: Experience and Trends in the Development of Society in Ukraine: Global, National and Regional Aspects”, which took place from November 10 to 14, 2025.
Preparation for the conference contributed to the motivation and involvement of the student-mentee in scientific and research activities. During individual meetings in the “mentor-mentee” format, a relevant topic for the student’s report was formulated, based on her circle of scientific interests. The mentor introduced the student to the features of searching for scientific sources, formulating scientific and methodological tools, structuring theses and preparing a report for the conference. Also, an important component for the student-mentee was the psychological support of the mentor before a public speech at a sectional meeting.
Thus, the actualization of the form of individual mentoring in the scientific and educational sphere has proven its effectiveness. During the conference, the student-mentee, Antonyan Siranush, successfully delivered a report and prepared, in co-authorship with the scientific supervisor, Kosareva G.S., theses for the collection “Mohyla Readings – 2025”. Such self-realization of the mentee through research activities and the support of the mentor contributes to growth both in the professional and scientific and educational spheres. It should be noted that Antonyan Siranush is also an active participant in the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Philology.
In this way, the individual form of cooperation between mentor and mentee in the context of scientific activity creates the prerequisites for a long-term culture of academic mentoring at Petro Mohyla National University of Chernivtsi, which will contribute to the overall improvement of the quality of education and the development of the scientific potential of the university.
