On June 24, 2025, on the occasion of the Civil Service Day in Ukraine and within the framework of the implementation of the EU Erasmus+ project 101082696 – PROMENT “Promoting professional education and active participation of students through the formation of a comprehensive system of mentoring and tutoring in higher education institutions” under the scheme “Mentoring in state authorities and local self-government bodies”, a meeting was held between the mentor, deputy head of the department, head of the department in the Odessa, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions of the South-Eastern Interregional Department of the National Agency for State Administration of Ukraine Olga Kalchenko and students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Public Management and Administration of Petro Mohyla National University of Chernivtsi.

The purpose of the meeting is to emphasize the fact that civil service is not only a profession, but also a type of activity aimed at ensuring the fulfillment of the powers of state authorities and local self-government.

It involves not only professional service activities, but also ensuring the fulfillment of the powers of persons holding public positions.

During the meeting, the participants agreed that civil service is a broader concept than just a profession; it is a complex system that includes both professional activities and ensuring the work of state bodies and officials.
