Learning through practice – the experience of tutors at the training of Lviv Polytechnic National University

On November 1, the Tutoring and Mentoring Center hosted a training for tutors, where participants gained mentoring and learning skills through solving real problems. The program covered two topics, which were presented by student tutors Kateryna Godlevska and Halyna Fedkiv:
Coaching as a tool for mentors. Participants mastered coaching techniques and methods, namely the “Circle of Life”, which helps in assessing different areas of students’ lives and planning personal development. Challenge-Based Learning. During the practical session, the “6 Thinking Hats” method was used, which promotes a multi-faceted analysis of the problem and the development of creativity. The event brought together representatives of various organizations who had the opportunity to present their activities and share their own experience: Iryna Andrushkiv – Associate Professor of the Department of Organizational Management of the Institute of Economics and Management and the Department of Project Management of the Institute of Administration, Public Administration and Professional Development, Head of the Smart Space Project, Founder of the NGO “Maybutne in.ua”, Mentor. Mariya Yevtushenko and Svitlana Bobosh – ESN Ukraine. Nataliya Dunas – Project Manager of the Center for International Cooperation of the Franko National University of Lviv. Olha Mokrytska – Associate Professor of the Department of Automated Design Systems. This training was an excellent opportunity for tutors not only to gain new knowledge and practical skills, but also to find inspiration for further work with young people.
