On June 11, 2025, a practical training “Gender Aspects of Project Activities” was held at the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University within the framework of the international Erasmus+ PROMENT project . The event was held in a hybrid format – offline in the Tutoring and Mentoring Center (room 10-107) and online on the Zoom platform.
The speaker of the meeting was Olena Filimonova, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Leading Specialist of the Department of International Relations of the ChNU, PROMENT Project Manager and DEFEP Project Coordinator. The training participants received practical advice on developing a relevant project idea in accordance with the priorities of the EU Program; the specifics of preparing a project application for Jean Monnet competitions in 2025; taking into account the principles of gender equality at all stages of the project cycle – from idea to monitoring; involving the academic community in implementing the values of the European Union, such as equality, inclusion, and participation in democratic life.
Olena Filimonova also presented the key types of Jean Monnet projects (in particular modules and chairs) and revealed the specifics of each of them, including evaluation criteria, budget models and teaching load requirements. Participants received access to relevant resources for applying for grants: EU platforms, application templates, guides, video instructions and contacts of national coordinators.
The event took place within the framework of the gender mentoring scheme, which is implemented at Petro Mohyla National University of Kyiv as part of the PROMENT project (“Promoting professional education and active participation of students through the establishment of a comprehensive system of mentoring and tutoring in higher education institutions”).
The training format included interactive communication, discussion of challenges and prospects for the participation of Ukrainian universities in European competitions. Following the meeting, group consultations on the preparation of project applications are planned for registered participants.
The organizers express their gratitude to the speaker for her professionalism and inspiration, as well as to the participants for their activity and interest. We invite you to join the next events within the PROMENT project to strengthen your potential in the field of academic development, gender equality, and international cooperation.
