Demo Day “Tutoring and Mentorship: Stories of Impact, Synergy, and Success”: Pitching the Results of the First Pilot under the Erasmus+ PROMENT Project National University “Chernihiv Polytechnic”


On December 17, 2024, the National University “Chernihiv Polytechnic” hosted the Demo Day event titled “Tutoring and Mentorship: Stories of Impact, Synergy, and Success,” with the participation of the Chernihiv IT Cluster and the university’s EU Information Center.

This event marked a significant milestone in implementing the Erasmus+ PROMENT project: “Promoting Professional Education and Active Student Engagement through the Establishment of a Comprehensive Mentorship and Tutoring System in Higher Education Institutions.” The program included presentations of the pilot outcomes of tutoring and mentorship programs, experience sharing among participants, promotion of project initiatives, and highlighting the importance of mentorship and tutoring in developing the skills of young leaders. The event was held in a hybrid format, gathering over 50 participants.

The Demo Day began with the official opening ceremony of the interactive space of the Tutoring and Mentorship Center. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities funded by the project, the center offers all necessary conditions to support student initiatives and foster the growth of young leaders. In his opening remarks, Oleg Novomlynets, Rector of “Chernihiv Polytechnic,” emphasized the importance of the center’s activities. Lyudmyla Remniova, PROMENT project coordinator, and Alla Kholodnytska, the Center’s Head, shared the achievements of 2024 and outlined the future prospects for the development of tutoring and mentorship programs at the university.

During the main sessions of the event:

  • Volodymyr Bazylevych, Coordinator of the EU Information Center, presented the results of the university’s digital mentorship program.
  • Vladyslav Nosovets, a representative of the Chernihiv IT Cluster, shared insights into organizing the “Digital Mentoring Crash Course” for higher education students.
  • Kateryna Hnedina, Coordinator for Startup Development, Innovations, and Project-Based Learning, highlighted the pivotal role of mentorship in developing the university’s startup ecosystem.
  • Alla Nitchenko, Coordinator of the Tutoring Program for first-year students, showcased the pilot results and shared success stories of tutor-tutee collaboration.

Students (tutees and mentees) shared their successful experiences of working with tutors and mentors in academic settings, startup activities, and other project-related initiatives.

The Demo Day “Tutoring and Mentorship: Stories of Impact, Synergy, and Success” concluded with discussions, reflections, and the recognition of the most active participants in the tutoring and mentorship programs with certificates and letters of appreciation.
