A mentoring meeting was held in the framework of the PROMENT project at the Petro Mohyla National University


On October 23, 2024, a regular event titled “The Basics of Tutoring in Higher Education Institutions and the Tutoring and Mentoring Center” was held at the Tutoring and Mentoring Center at Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University within the EU Erasmus+ project 101082696-PROMENT “Promoting Professional Education and Active Student Participation through the Establishment of a Comprehensive Mentorship and Tutorship System in Higher Education Institutions.”

The main speaker of the event was Yana Vaskovska, Chief Specialist at the “Tourist Information Center,” Department of Economics and Investments, Department of Economic Development of the Mykolaiv City Council.

The primary goal of the meeting was to discuss the challenges and analysis of the adaptation of young specialists in public administration bodies.

The speaker shared her personal experience and general guidelines for newcomers entering public service positions, emphasizing that the formation of professionally prepared staff in public authorities is one of the factors in creating an effective tool for implementing state functions.

The adaptation of individuals who are joining public authorities for the first time is a crucial stage in the development of management professionals. Timely and thorough adaptation is a necessary condition for the effective functioning and development of both the governing institution and the individual.
