On the results of the production practice-2 of students of the Faculty of Philology at the Mykolaiv Art Drama Theater within the framework of the PROMENT project

For six weeks, from February 10 to March 22, 2025, third-year students of the Faculty of Philology, group 346U, had production practice-2, which took place at the Art Academic Drama Theater in a mixed format.

The practice leaders from the Department of Ukrainian Philology and Intercultural Communication, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Halyna Kosareva, and the theater curator-mentor, head of the artistic and dramaturgical part of the theater, actress Maryna Vasilyeva, provided constant support and assistance to students during the practice, conducting consultations and meetings on topical issues.

Internship has become an important element of mentoring support for students within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ 101082696-PROMENT “Promoting professional education and active participation of students through the establishment of a comprehensive system of mentoring and tutoring in higher education institutions.”

The internship program included translating, editing, and transliterating plays for stage production, as well as writing annotations and reviews for plays.

In addition, students had the opportunity to attend performances in the theater, meet actors, and receive professional advice on their future translation activities.

At the end of the practice, a final conference was held under the guidance of group methodologists, in which the director and chief director of the theater, Artem Svystun, joined. Mr. Artem shared the peculiarities of theatrical life during the war, emphasized the diversity of the repertoire of performances in our invincible city, and also noted the results of the fruitful cooperation of the theater team with philology students.

At the conference, students presented video reports from their internship, shared their impressions and challenges regarding the internship.

It should be noted that students who completed their internships are currently participating in the PROMENT project as tutors, which allows them to share their experience with first-year students, helping them better adapt to the conditions of study at the university.

The results of industrial practice-2 showed that students, in general, effectively developed professional competencies and demonstrated readiness for future professional activities.

It should be noted that the administration of the Mykolaiv Academic Drama Theater, as a stakeholder, expressed gratitude to the university for the fruitful cooperation.

It is worth noting that the production practice-2 of students of the Faculty of Philology at the Mykolaiv Art Drama Theater within the framework of the PROMENT project is an important stage of their professional training, combining theoretical knowledge with real experience in the field of culture. Participation in theatrical activities contributes to the development of communicative, editorial and analytical skills, familiarization with dramaturgy, creating texts for the theater, writing reviews, working with media and social networks. Thanks to the mentoring support of specialists, students acquire practical competencies necessary for career development in the field of journalism, literature, cultural management. The practice contributes to their social activity, critical thinking and integration into the professional community, expanding the possibilities of future employment.

We congratulate all students on the successful completion of an important practical stage in their studies! We wish them further success and self-realization in their professional careers and employment.

We sincerely thank Artem Svystun, Maryna Vasilyeva, and all teachers and mentors who have practically created a space for productive peer-to-peer interaction, which will contribute to the further motivation and personal and professional growth of our students.
