General questions
Our Tutoring and Mentoring Program in the project HEIs is a support initiative designed to assist students in higher education institutions. The mentoring component pairs experienced mentors with students who need academic or professional guidance. The tutoring component brings together senior students and freshmen students to help the latter feel more confident in the university environment.
There are 4 universities from Ukraine and 2 universities from Georgia, namely:
Lviv Polytechnic National University (Ukraine)
Dnipro University of Technology (Ukraine)
Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University (Ukraine)
Chernihiv Polytechnic National University (Ukraine)
Shota Rustaveli State University (Georgia)
Georgian Technical University (Georgia)
Mentor – is an experienced and trusted adviser who teaches or gives help and advice to students.
Mentee – is a university student who is mentored by the mentor to train new skills to achieve learning goals.
Tutor – is a university senior-year student who provides support to the tutee.
Tutee – is a first-year student with fewer opportunities who needs support with adaptation to the university environment.
We consider your preferences when assigning mentors and mentees / tutors and tutee and ultimately make the best matches based on academic or professional needs, subject areas, and availability.
We use a comprehensive matching process that takes into account academic majors, availability, and mentor/tutor expertise to ensure the best possible mentor-mentee and tutor-tutee pairing.
No, our program is open to all students seeking academic or professional support. Whether you’re struggling or simply want to enhance your learning experience, you can benefit from mentorship and tutoring.
We offer mentoring and tutoring support in a wide range of subjects and topics commonly presented in HEIs. Specific offerings may vary depending on available mentors.
As for now, 12 mentoring and tutoring schemes are developed, namely:
- Professional mentoring
- Mentoring for IDPs and other relocated students
- Business and Startup mentoring
- Green Deal mentoring
- Local government-led mentoring
- Young teacher mentoring
- Digital tutoring/mentoring
- First-year student tutoring
- Gender mentoring (Women in Science)
- Internationalization tutoring for outgoing students
- Buddy tutoring (international students, cultural and religious diversity)
- Mentoring for students with disabilities
The frequency of meetings varies depending on the needs of the mentee and the availability of the mentor. Typically, mentors and mentees meet weekly or bi-weekly.

The duration of the mentoring and tutoring relationship usually spans 6 months. However, some partnerships may continue beyond a single semester if both parties agree.
Students questions
No, participation in our Tutoring and Mentoring Program in the project HEIs is free of charge for all students.
While it’s preferable to join at the beginning of a semester, we do accept applications from mentors and mentees throughout the academic year. We will do our best to match you as soon as possible.
Being part of our program means you can boost your grades, level up your study skills, feel more confident, and be part of a cool university community.
We have a dedicated support system in place for reporting any issues or concerns. You can contact T&M Center in your university, and we will address the matter promptly and discreetly.
Yes, we encourage feedback from both mentors and mentees. We regularly collect feedback to improve the program’s effectiveness and quality.

Mentors questions
To become a mentor, you can apply through the designated platform during the designated recruitment periods. Keep an eye out for announcements and application instructions. We look for experienced individuals who are willing to commit their time to help students succeed.
We seek mentors who are experienced in their field, have a strong academic or professional record, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Specific criteria may vary by program. Currently, we are looking for mentors in the following areas:

While prior mentoring experience is valuable, it’s not always required. We provide training and support to help you excel in your mentoring role.
As a mentor, you can gain valuable skills in organizing the work of a team of young people, better understand their needs and aspirations, implement your project together with students, build a strong professional network with other mentors, increase the visibility and positive perception of your company or organization among students, deepen cooperation with the academic community, find future talented employees for your company and teach them what you need.

No, mentors do not receive any fees or financial compensation for participating in the Program. We invite mentors who are ready to share their time and experience free of charge to support young people who are willing to grow.
In return, we offer assistance with strengthening the reputation and brand of the company or mentor, the opportunity to influence the curricula, the possibility of cooperation with students and partnerships with educational institutions.
Tutors questions

No, you don’t need to major in education to become a tutor. However, you should have a solid understanding of the subject you wish to tutor or to have an experience you can share with your peers.
Yes, we provide training to tutors to ensure they are equipped with effective tutoring techniques and strategies.
As a tutor, you will develop your leadership skills by guiding and supporting your peers, boost your understanding of the subject you are tutoring, build a network with other tutors, mentors and students, open up potential future career opportunities through your experience as tutors and get the chance to make your resume look even more impressive.
Partnership and Support questions
We would be delighted to establish new partnerships with organizations and companies that share our mission and values. Our T&M Centers are open to discussions regarding potential collaboration opportunities aimed at supporting students in higher education.
Partnering with us allows companies and organizations to contribute to education and community development, enhance their corporate social responsibility efforts, and gain exposure to a diverse and engaged student community. We offer customized partnership packages to meet specific goals.
