On April 24, at the invitation of Marina Vasilyeva, Honored Artist of Ukraine, mentor of the PROMENT project, students of the Faculty of Philology, together with Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Philology and Intercultural Communication, Halyna Kosaryeva, visited the one-man play “Simple Ukrainian Scythian Woman” at the Mykolaiv Academic Art Drama Theater.
The meeting took place within the framework of the PROMENT project, in which students of the Faculty of Philology of Petro Mohyla National University of Chernivtsi participate under the program “Mentoring of Young Teachers”.
The students’ impressions of the one-man play based on Tamara Gorikha’s novel “Dotsia” are powerful, the masterful performance of Marina Vasilyeva keeps the audience’s attention throughout. It feels like the main character deeply experiences, lives, and describes the experience of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
A very realistic and at the same time ritualistic action took place on stage due to its performative-immersive nature, the actress’s excellent performance, the unique scenography, the construction of the space on the stage, the special modulation of the actress’s voice, and the musical scale.
