The establishment of the T&M university centre at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University March 27-30, 2024, Chernihiv (Ukraine)


On the occasion of the opening of the Tutoring and Mentoring Center at the National University “Chernihiv Polytechnic”, a series of events were held On March 27 and 30:

  • Panel discussion on the topic: “Mentoring as a Navigator of Successful Career in the Digital World” (in a mixed offline-online format);
  • World cafe on the topic: “Tutoring and Mentoring: Trajectories of Development of Necessary Student Skills” and Cybersecurity;
  • Olympiad “Cybersecurity: Challenges and Opportunities” under the guidance of experienced mentors from the Chernihiv IT Cluster, which is also part of the PROMENT project consortium.

The participants of the Panel Discussion were welcomed by:

The main focus of the panel discussion was on:

  • The specifics of introducing mentoring programs in Ukrainian universities
  • Key aspects of the interaction between “mentor & mentee” in international grant projects
  • Digital mentoring as a key factor in forming a good basis for employment, etc.

On the same day, the students of the University had the opportunity to take part in a group, alternative discussion of the topic:

  • “Tutoring and Mentoring: Trajectories of Development of Necessary Student Skills” – in the format of a world cafe (trainers – Ganna DYVNYCH and Anna VERBYTSKA).

On March 30, during the Olympiad “Cybersecurity: Challenges and Opportunities”, master classes were held for future IT specialists, students of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University by leading experts in the field of cybersecurity.

Experienced mentors from the IT Cluster and the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University provided mentoring in real time, which allowed the teams of participants to develop original IT solutions.

The Tutoring and Mentoring Center at the Chernihiv Polytechnic National University (Chernihiv, Ukraine) was created with the aim of accelerating the adaptation of higher education students to the educational process and their continuous development in various professional fields.

This is one of six Tutoring and Mentoring Centers that are planned to be opened within the framework of the PROMENT project “Promoting Professional Education and Active Student Participation through the Establishment of a Comprehensive System of Mentoring and Tutoring in HEIs in Ukrainian and Georgian universities.
